"Artists of The Month"

In Miss Fisichella's art class we have a beautiful "Artists of The Month" bulletin board (see picture below). As you can see it is blank, this is because our wonderful DPS children will be filling the bulletin board as the year progresses!

DPS has a wonderful ticket system in place to promote positive behavior. This ticket system is very much in use in the art room, although there is a little extra "art twist" to it. When a student receives a green ticket from me for being respectful, responsible, or safe they will also be able to put a ticket in the "art bug" bucket. At the end of each month I will be pulling from the art bug bucket to find out who the "Artists of The Month" will be! I will also use the art bug bucket from time to time to pick students for special jobs in the art room (table manager, paper collector, etc.).

For example if "Sarah's" name is put in the art bug bucket for being respectful, responsible, or safe she has a chance to be picked for "Artist of the Month". She would also have a chance to be chosen to help out with special jobs in the art room. I will be pulling more than one artist, so everyone will be able to shine on our bulletin board by the end of the year!

Meet Miss Fisichella!

Hello families of DPS!

I am very excited to begin the school year! I am honored to introduce myself as the new art teacher at Donegal Primary School. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University, Tyler School of Art in January of 2013. I also received the faculty award in Art Education in January 2013 from the Tyler School of Art.

I created this blog as another way to communicate with families of my students. I will be posting pictures of projects we will be creating, what is coming up, as well as any extra events or needs (for example left over paper towel rolls for printmaking, etc.). I will also be sure to send home notices or send emails to communicate with families, so please do not feel obligated to check this blog consistently.
